Another Weblog? Another Webcomic? You so crazy!

In celebration of my 100th post, I have started a new weblog slash webcomic, The Adventures of Bark and Skeet. You will hate it. For the loyal reader(s) of my blog, here's strip #2 (Unpublished until Monday). Click to enlarge.

The new blog looks kinda simple. I'll pretty it up later.

A Little Lesson For New eBay Users.

When a guy with a "1" feedback rating (from someone who is no longer a registered user) is selling "80 playstation 2 new still in box" for $150, it's a scam. He will take your money and go to the bar, buying drinks for pretty ladies in the hopes of seeing them naked.

Also, don't pay $220 for a copy of Tomb Raider. That is stupid. You can get the damn game for a buck. Plus, you won't have enough money to go to the bar, and buy drinks for pretty ladies in the hopes of seeing them naked.

Great. Another Thing to be Addicted to.

Only 10 episodes in, and Full Metal Alchemist is quickly looking to become my favorite anime series ever. Yes, that includes Bebop.

Sing it with me! KIMINOTEDE! KIRISAITE! TOIHINO! KIOKUWO! God, I'm such a loser.

Hopefully, if there are any terrorists around, they'll have a look at what's out here today and go somewhere else...wait...that's a horrible thought.

What the hell?

I was looking for clip art for next week's Bart and Skeet, when I ran across this thing. I really don't know if it will look as spastic in your web browsers (was using firefox), but I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

God, I'm Addicted.

Fullmetal Alchemist is like crack. No it's worse than crack. It's like crack with a storyline and a kick-ass theme song.

I actually considered cosplay for a minute. Somebody shoot me.

Someone should start Anime Anonymous, but the alcoholics took the damn initials.

Julia Child, 1912-2004.

I don't think about whether people will remember me or not. I've been an okay person. I've learned a lot. I've taught people a thing or two. That's what's important. Sooner or later the public will forget you, the memory of you will fade. What's important are the individuals you've influenced along the way.

Always remember: If you're alone in the kitchen and you drop the lamb, you can always just pick it up. Who's going to know?

Fat gives things flavor.

Playing golf with men can throw off your stroke.

There is nothing worse than grilled vegetables.

Celebrity has its uses: I can always get a seat in any restaurant.

A cookbook is only as good as its poorest recipe.

I'm awfully sorry for people who are taken in by all of today's dietary mumbo jumbo. They are not getting any enjoyment out of their food.

Moderation. Small helpings. Sample a little bit of everything. These are the secrets of happiness and good health. You need to enjoy the good things in life, but you need not overindulge.

I don't eat between meals. I don't snack. Well, I do eat those little fish crackers. They're fattening, but irresistible.

You must have discipline to have fun.

The problem with the world right now is that we don't have any politicians like Roosevelt or Churchill to give us meaning and depth. We don't have anyone who's speaking for the great and the true and the noble. What we need now is a heroic type, someone who could rally the people to higher deeds. I don't know what's to become of us.

Drama is very important in life: You have to come on with a bang. You never want to go out with a whimper. Everything can have drama if it's done right. Even a pancake.

No more F.M.A. I Sad. Run to FLCL For Consolation.

Well, I'm out of Full Metal Alchemist episodes to watch, so I figured I'd watch FLCL (aka Fooly Cooly or Furi Kuri). I've only watched one episode, but I believe that it just might be the greatest anime I have ever seen that involves a guy taking repeated blows to the head. Click for the enlarging and whatnot.

Why I Hate Audiophiles.

This is the Wavac SH-833 150 watt monoblock power amplifier. It costs $350,000. Not a typo. A home stereo amp, a quarter of a million dollars.

Let's do the math.

My 150 watt stereo amp cost $50. It measures roughly half a foot by 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet. That's 1.25 Cubic Feet. I could buy 7000 of those amps (at retail) for $350,000. If I bought that many, I bet we could get wholesale, so we could probably buy 10000 total. That's 12500 cubic feet. That's a cube approximately 23 feet to a side of solid amplifiers, 1.5 gigawatts, or 1,500,000 Watts of Rockin' Stereo Power.

Wavac can kiss my ass.

The cover to the new Time Magazine (biggest pic I could find, sorry). The cover story is "Saving the Big Cats," but as I walked by a copy and glanced down at it, I could've sworn it said "Shaving the Big Cats." Couldn't stop laughing for five minutes. Poor big shaved cats.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

August 23, 2004

Ah, Fall.

Hmm. What is it that tells you that the school year has begun again when you work on a college campus? Is it the eager eyed freshmen? The bookstore flyers everywhere? The bad drivers barreling towards you on one way streets? No, no, no. For me, it's the astonishing amount of urine all over the men's room toilets and floors.

Seriously. I'm not that old, I clearly remember being 18. I could aim, I'm sure of it. The random errant drop, I can understand, but it looks like the bathroom has been showering.

That's all I can really say about that.
